"Tommy, I say again , Kilhey court ain't in Standish"

Well so what ?

Morally it is in Standish, and it would have been in Standish proper, if for not that shithouse Squire of Worthington, had not stolen it from Standish .....

Tommy, people are gobbing off at people who happen to innocently live in Standish making silly snobby assumptions about Standish folk because of these unwanted migrants that happen to be housed in a different place that is not Standish and is not even represented by Standish councillors. There are protests centered in Standish organised by folk for political reasons, whom don't even live in Standish. So, That is What !

Worthington is not in Standish (the town) but is in Standish with Langtree (the electoral ward). It follows that it should be represented by Standish with Langtree councillors.

Tonker, please get facts correct. Worthingon is not a town. Standish is not a town. Standish is an unparished area since 1974. The electoral ward of today is a totally different issue completely and you are mixing the two entities up quite perplexley and getting rather confused? Moving onto electoral wards tonker, Kilhey court has zero to do with Standish or Langtree ... Here is the map for Standish and Langtree coucillors, zero to do with them click here

Yoo are right, Kilhey Court is not in Standish, and not in the Standish with Langtree Ward, so it is not represented by the Standish Councillors.
But Standish, is literally across the road from Kilhey Court, and the nearest properties to Kilhey Court, which are going to be in Worthington, Bradley and the Bleachworks area etc, are in Standish, so the Standish thing is very relevant, and not to be poo pooed, the Standish Councillors are two Labour and one Conservative, and they have to tow the party line, and cannot just set up a protest group, however Maureen O'Bern is an Independant, and she is free to pursue her own agenda, and I am quite sure that the folk of Standish, will be grateful that she has organised the opposition to the migrants in Standish

Pewfall

Going back to the Council Ward designation for Kilhey Court, it may not be in Standish, but it is in Wigan Metro, and it is actually in the Aspull, New Springs and Whelley Ward

Pewfall, you're correct !

My re-post - "Worthington is not in Standish, it's in Worthington, in the electoral ward of Aspull.
It follows that it should be represented by Aspull councillors."

Yes, really!
It's called a 'township', not a villageship, and it's bigger than Wigan, which is also a town.

Tommy, Kilhey Court to Standish Market Place (where the protest was) is distance of 1.6 miles. How can Standish be "literally across the road from Kilhey Court," be troo. I've never seen a road that wide. Try walking that far in the rain with a hole in your shoe. You state "the folk of standish will be grateful" to maureen o bern who has organsised blah blah blah. You cannot speak whatsoever collectively for the folk of Standish. Neither can I. Cheers for telling me when to put the bin out. I'll be exercising at Worthy Lakes pausing to feed the ducks as usual Tuesday lunchtime. Pop in , say hello.

I really don't understand why you have made those comments in your reply, only to say that they are "weird" and I don't understand the point you are making, you are a weirdo.

From The Kilhey Court Hotel, Wigan Website.
https://www.macdonaldhotels.co.uk/kilhey-court

"Kilhey Court in Standish, Wigan is not currently open to the public for room, dining or spa bookings and is therefore no longer available on the website."

The owners like to associate it with Standish?

Tommy , my point is simple. U keep saying Kilhey court is in standish. It aint. I spend time around there. It's a long way away. I am not going to bite back to your unpleasant name calling that well .... really really disappoints me. so i reply kind regards to you...............................Baz, i totally agree and bow to Tonker indeed knowing everything.

Even though Worthington is not in Standish, it is "just across the road" from it. About 200 metres, actually, across a field and then Bradley Brook.
Folk are easily misled, though. Even The Crown at Worthington is said to be in Standish, but it's not.
Although, Worthington has always been in Standish Parish and it has a Standish postal address and an 01257 phone code like Standish has.

Why is Wigan Golf Club called "Wigan Golf Club" when it's in Blackrod, not Wigan?

Agree with you, Totally spot on Tonker. What i keep inferring though in my last posts are that these protestors, that seems to be from other far flung places and politically motivated, are making big waves in centre of Standish, certainly a long way away from where they live, about a place that aint nowhere near Kilhey Court. Let's not forgot to metion that passing 128 Rectory Lane too the Postcode changes from a Wigan WN1 to a Wn6 Standish postcode.

I don't blame them if they do their protesting in the centre of Standish as opposed to the bottom end of it near Kilhey Court.
They'll get more publicity there.
